Damn OB, are you guys hiring? I don't mind being the catch can man who occasionally catches fire or the guy that stops the car who occasionally gets hit. Still beats what I do. FWIW, I'm an excellent driver.(Except on video games for some odd reason )

Also, changed my wipers, AGAIN. What is everyone using? I've tried about 4 different brands (michelin and rainx included) and still have to change about every two/three months or so. Sometimes sooner. Maybe Bosch?

We made it back home last night and our Black Beauty never gave us a single issue. She really made me appreciate the BMW engineering to take a 15 year old truck with 170,000 miles on the clock nearly 3,000 miles with minimum preventative maintenance.
  • Visually inspected tires
  • Visually inspected brakes
  • Checked coolant level
  • Checked oil level

We spent a few more days at the Stonewall Resort in the Appalachians of West Virginia on the way home to break up the 12 hour drive home from Canada and now getting back to the normal everyday grind.

It rained nearly every day on our travels so she is a little dirty. Time for a wash for the old girl.

The best blades I ever used were trico onyx until they failed in a 30 minute long drive (about 1/2 of the wiper edge peeled off like a zipper). They have a new model supposedly 3x as long lasting and I have them now. The onyx lasted 18 months. (through two winters). They are quite pricy close to $30 @ but sometimed you can get buy two get one free and pick up a high end rear wiper at the same time.

I forget the name of the new ones but the label has gold (and apparently also made from the stuff) and the brag bullets on the packages says 3x longer lasting or such

Very nice! Our x35d barely gets more than that. I think at 65mph it gets 27-28mpg. Red only manages 19-20mpg highway. But she doesn't care how heavy her burden is generally. Put 600lbs in it and it got the same mileage. "So I've got that going for me."

I put a set of Bosch Icon blades on 3 years ago and the rear is just now starting to streak. Fronts are still fine. A little pricey though at $20/each.

On a second note, I am part of the fueling team as a deadman on the fuel rig during the race as all of my computer work is done by the start of the race. (If I ever need my laptop during the race it is a very bad day) I deliver the fuel through a valve with a handle on the rig and release it when it is full or if there is a fire. My wife says I look like Deadpool...

We come to COTA in Austin with Trans-Am the first week of October if any of the Texas mafia wants to come. I'll put you guys on my team list and won't cost you a thing.
