The hood Latch is Broken due to the Wire being Rusty.

Made a short VIDEO on how to Drive with this inconvenient problem and not having to take off the wheel to open the hood from the under the Arch

That is a good feeling to get it running like that. Similarly, I just dropped my dad off for a Dr. Appoint about an hour drive and when I parked I left the car running because it's 12f=-11c outside and the idle was so smooth I thought the engine stalled.

Thanks! I'll be changing the oil every 3-5k to keep the rare 4.6 in good health! 0w40 is cheap enough!

Cheaper than a TUB46 in any case.

UGH!! Mine got rear ended. In my driveway. Someone turning around mixed up gas and brake, hit the X5 and moved it about 4'. Their front was mangled, air bags went off - a write-off.

The X5 - bumper cracked, two middle PDC sensors knocked out, tailgate dented. Thankfully the exhaust was undamaged (my 4.4 has the 4.8 bumper and exhaust). Insurance estimate puts it over their limit and they want to write it off. Not happening. I'll wade through the insurance appraisal nonsense, get the value raised and see what I can get to get it repaired. So silly - this thing is mechanically in great shape, tight, rides and sounds awesome.

Sorry to hear the bad news LVP. That is my worst fear on both of my aging BMW's. Both are immaculate and 2 of the nicest E46 and E53 out there but insurance thinks they are worth low blue book.

I think when I converted the front and rear 4.8iS bumpers and flares it exceeded the value of my X5 by 100%.

I share the same problem as well, Boost. I am looking to add an additional policy for $30,000, for total loss. That will cover most of the upgrades. Itís a type of policy for classic cars.

Let me know what that premium is for you Happy. I might consider it if it is cost effective.

Sure thing Boost. Here in Houston, with the way the motorist in my area behave now a days, I cringe a bit every time I take ole girl out.
