I found the barrier at a few dealers online and also here.

Can you even consider yourself a true E53 owner if you can't remove the door card at midnight in a parking lot in 90 seconds or less?

Got PA Soft Scanner 1.4 up and running on a windows 10 laptop today and ran a full scan of the X5. Nothing cosmic that my old foxwell wasn’t reading in its most basic form, but seemingly a lot more capabilities available too. Unfortunately no more granular codes popped regarding my fuel vent issue. I’ve got a 093 code which is pretty generic and seems to cover the whole vent and evap system. The vent valve test ok with my foxwell, so the next step is to pull the left rear fender liner and take a look. A job for when it starts to cool down this fall.
Now to figure out if I can adjust the rear (only in my x5) suspension via the software. I’d like to tweak the right rear up a couple/centimeters. I had it figured out in inpa, but inpa stopped working on my laptop.

if it'll work on Win 10, then maybe it will on Win 11, also ???

I was able to get the INPA program to (mostly) work on my minimal ram laptop (even though the ARM64 processor was supposed to make it impossible to do), so perhaps it might be possible to get PA Soft Scanner 1.4 installed, since it looks to be even better suited for my diagnostic needs, than INPA or ISTA (D,P,+, or whatever). Everything I read about INPA said that it wouldn't load or work on my laptop, but after many work-arounds, I got it to work (Windows fought back against me, every step of the way). However, I wasn't able to get all components of the "standard tools"
I also tried and failed to get a "Standalone ISTA+" package (also from Bimmerfest) to work, due to my RAM sitting at 2GB (I only need the ISTA-D/RHEINGOLD diagnostics, and can't find a way to separate them from the other components, so I'm looking at PA Soft Scanner 1.4, as a cheap(er) alternative to upgrading my puny laptop, my Foxwell NT510 Elite, or both. I'm looking for any way to expand my diagnostic tool set https://xoutpost.com/bmw-sav-forums/...ml#post1232596. Could you either post about how you "Got PA Soft Scanner 1.4 up and running on a windows 10 laptop", list the specs required to make it work, and component sources (and prices, too!), or PM to me that info, if you don't want to do so publicly? I'm old, poor (retired), and definitely not a computer wiz (see my post history to confirm).

You can tweak the sensor arm to counteract leveling problems no programming needed. That said make sure the height measuring arm isn't rusted. They typically will jam up and bend the plastic arm not push the measuring arm. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Pro

As far as the PA Soft install, I gave up and had Tony do it remotely. The driver install is the tricky part, although the instructions are pretty good. My bucket was full however and I still have PTSD from trying to keep INPA working! He’ll have you change your system so that unsigned drivers can be erased (reverts back to “normal” after the next reboot), and send you a link that allows him a one time remote access to your system. It took him less than a minute to get the drivers installed properly.

A complaint was filed stating the X5 smelled like burning oil. So early today, I decide to take a look. I know it's not dripping oil since the pan gasket fix. The power steering cap was loose. Oil was all over the reservoir. Using a can of Super Clean and a bristle brush, the engine bay was degreased. I didn't have enough to do the hood. Another can is on order. The alternator was covered with a plastic bag. After few minutes, a low pressure water rinse cleaned it off. Next week, a short three day trip to a San Antonio conference. I'll be running around town keeping myself busy. I'm not the one stuck in a conference room.

Last night I gave mine a good wash and re blacked all the trim ready for a local car show this evening. Drove there and realised it was last week… I was abroad last weekend. Fortunately the show is only 3 miles from my house.
