My shocks don't work well in our 50 degree weather but did just fine this summer. Mine also appear to be original though.

^^ That's good to know, maybe i'll get the full tilt when it warms up a little, but for now i'm impressed even with it opening just halfway

Mine blast open all the way up above 45 degrees or in the sun.

Sub freezing, only pops open about 10 inches.

Original shocks.

Got the trans falesafe message on the dash as I pulled up to a stop sign on my way out of the sub last night

Hope it just goes away when I get a chance tonight to pull and clear codes

working on refinishing a set rears...

before:

after (sanding, filling, priming):

I used Bondo's "Plastic Metal" to fill in the curb rash. A little bit of sanding left, then i will be laying down the paint and clear coat. Using Wurth's "German Wheel Restoration Kit".

guess I forgot to plug the mass air back in after pulling the airbox out to get the new headlight bulb in NOW WHY DOES THAT trip the trans fail safe I have no idea. I also found a bunch of people reporting that it has and will do this with a bad mass air so not isolated problem

replaced the drivers door carrier again.. this time with OEM. ebay brand lasted 4 months before it started sticking and eventually crapping out. also installed a "new" door handle as i stripped my plastic nub thing last time.

a little tip: when installing or removing the plastic painted door handle, pull the carrier a little bit as if you were opening the door. this helps fully seat the door handle (and prevent damage to the plastic nub thing )

^ ill be doing a squared set up. if need be the refinished wheels will be on one side of the vehicle, so mismatch will not be so apparent.
