Congratulations EOD! Such a beautiful baby boy. I was 16 before I got to go 120 MPH. Jealous!

Key wasnt operating smoothly in door lock so I popped out the cylinder to see if it just needed some lube/clean.

Bummer: discovered the internal part broke again. Put back together and put back in the door as I hear ping ping donk as some parts fell off into the door. Craaaap. Oh well I was already going to order the kit and fortunately it includes all of the parts that now rest at the bottom of my door. $9 Amazon prime next day.

I might try to add some reinforcement when putting back together it's a terribly weak design very thin pot metal they only last because people never use the actual key.

So this is the part that self destructs. It's designed too thin and will snap after about 1000 uses. That will last quite a long time until your key fob won't unlock the door. After that you get about a year. I've had to replace mine twice now.

Door Lock Repair Kit for BMW E53... https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01MQQQE80?ref=yo_pop_ma_swf

I bought this kit and it was ∞ better than the first one I bought which wasn't the right size and I had to sand/file to fit. This one all the parts just dropped in save the roll pin meant to hold it together. I just didn't install it. (I didn't put the pin in last time and after 18 months no sign of it being needed

Got a nice foam bath, clay bar and sealent to hold me up till I can do some real paint correction come spring time.

Also re-calibrated my ride height set it to 27.5" front and 28" rear (from bottom of wheel to edge of fender) and replaced my PS reservoir with fresh fluid.

Did the reservoir in hopes that it wouget rid of the whine when full lock but no success. At least it has fresh fluid and filter now.

I used INPA for the calibration.

Is there a go to on here.
I have INPA but I'm not very good at anything with it besides reading codes and clearing them.
I need to recalibrate mine, as my TPMS light stays on due to the drop with H&R springs.

4.8is Ride Height Calibration

It's the same for 2 or 4 axle models. Just choose the correct one on INPA

Do you have true TPMS or the FTM (Flat Tyre Monitor) that uses the ABS system? Resetting the FTM is just a simple matter of using the centre console button to reset the light.
