The last of the suspension parts arrived today.... air suspension is on borrowed time

Got some heavy duty rain coming for 6 days straight so can't work on site. Might take advantage of the down time and get it up on a hoist and sorted...

also arrived today was the special tool in for the steering column bearing so might have to put the newly wrapped steering wheel back on too....

My wallet is NOT happy!

Here's what my fluid looked like after 120000 miles. Not black, but not golden either. I got out about 2L and put in just over 2L. Maybe 2.2L of LiquiMoly 75w90 synth gear oil. Neither diff appears to be leaking.

I did my rear one last summer. Haven't done the front yet.

The front is harder to do (access is limited by the reinforcing plate) and the fluid has a harder life than in the rear - the front diff gets heated by the engine, so the fluid is usually darker (cooked!).

Put it on the list....

Yeah for sure. I'm not even sure why I never did it when I did the rear, maybe I forgot it's awd. Lol.

This was my experience for sure. Front was much darker. Rear was not new looking, but much better than front. Didn't smell as bad either.

Grease everywhere is a sure sign that The bolt went. No choice but to fix that before moving on.

I too have a little clunk when going forward/reverse or vice versa. Noticed grease residue at the front diff where the CV goes in. Inner and outer boots appear fine. Time for CV axles I guess.
