Fan converstion: motor driven to electric
I recently replaced my main motor driven fan because it threw a blade. We installed the new OEM replacement with an updated design and it sounds horrible. It pulls more HP from the motor due to change in design (number of blades and pitch) without any additional cooling capacity. I'm not happy with it and I'm considering deleting the the motor driven fan (gain 3HP-5HP) and converting to a single our dual electric fan set up. Has anyone undertaken this project? Thanks, TB |

I removed my fan clutch and fan 2 years ago and have never had any issues. I live in East TN which is a mild climate i would say. It never runs hot even while sitting in traffic in 100 degree f. Warms up much quicker in the winter as well. I had a whole thread on this couple years back.
