Radio MID

In need a bit of info on radio MIDs. I have a 2003 X5 with about half of the radio MID pixels out in it. Do I have to pull the unit and get the part number to know which MID will work??? Will an MID from a e39 work and or what should I be looking for??? Any help in this area would be greatly appreciated...

It's probably one of these part numbers:

65806914608
65806914610
65806914606
65806914604

Different part numbers for different button configurations and either DSP or non-DSP.

The only way to know for certain of which MID you can use is to pull it out and check your P/N.

I also have a similar problem. Do you know how much the parts + labor will cost for a non-dsp unit?

any idea if the e39 MIDs are the same(when it comes to the wiring harness) to the X5?if so if you bought another one, wouldn't you need the radio code?or is the code for the business CD?
