BMW X5 '03 Passenger Door Problem - Help!

Hello Everybody,

I'm new to this forum hoping I can get some help with my friends X5 passenger door. As a brief summary....

The automatic door lock was failing on the front passenger door. We had to lock it manually and then unlock via the inner door handle. Now, it won't unlock and the inner door lock doesn't seem to disengage the lock/latch. I've tried pulling the lock up and then pulling on the door handles, but no luck. The bowden cable is fine, its just the door won't unlock/unlatch. I have a new actuator, but can't put it in because the door won't open. I've taken the panel off (with no damages to it) and can see the actuator.

Read from a different post of a guy disengaging the double lock rod and was wondering if anyone has any suggestions on how to do so? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks
