Self Leveling air suspension inactive

Recently i had a radar detector installed in my car. The car was on a lift and the wheels where loose in the air. The key was in the ignition and the contact was on (to test the detactor).
Well the detector works fine (probably because it has not been made by BMW...).

The problem is that i have the "air suspension inactive" message since.... The car is also not responding on the up and down arrows on the left side of the wheel....

According to the dealer it is the comprossor pump. Well i find that hard to imagine.. I think its some kind of error in the car computer or someting like that. Is there a way to reset the whole system or do you guys know an other way to make this system work again....

Thanks for your help...

Do you hear compressor when unlocking a car? could be that it needs calibration... do some search.

I have seen quite a few reports like this, often people looking for bad wheel bearings. Some have had luck resetting the suspension module at the dealer.

Not sure how to prevent this but I guess taking the fuses for the air suspension out might pre-empt this problem.

BTW, radar detector in the low country.....tsk, tsk tsk. Don't let the boyz in the blue catch you! :-)
