136,000 highway miles on my 2005 4.4i. Only replaced wear items, 2 window regulators, some front suspension bushings. Drives and runs just fine.

2002 X5 3.0i pushing 186K. Mostly change window regulator. Looks like AC maybe having issue but so far nothing major. Take it to my Indie on my birthday month every year for a full checkup. ;-)

01 4.4i 157227 What have I done to this?.. I bought it at 150K 2 weeks later I had to replace the alternator, next there was a coil pack or two, then a crank shaft position sensor, then the radiator expension tank hose (in the middle of nowhere colorado) later the expansion tank itself then the transmission, 3 weeks later a couple of heater hoses, 2 weeks after that the radiator.

Sorry to here that man - Did you have it inspected by a good Indy before buying it?

Ha Ha, that would have been a good move but the car was an impulse buy from a "friend" at a local dealer, I was looking at a truck and the ex was eyeing this. BUT it is a BLAST to drive when it runs, I get 18.8 Mpg in the city and my Newfi loves the back seat. so I guess we will keep it, as long as this fourm is up and running I can continue to turn wrenches on this beast! besides, I can swear at it in its native tongue

I drove the X5 after a long break yesterday and it still has a measly 95k on it. I do like the rack and pinion steering on it over the recirculating ball steering on my current car and that is one thing I miss.

I hope it sees many more years of great service in the family. I treated it like a baby when I drove it around but I'm not sure how my dad is treating it now.

'06 3.0 with 94,000 miles here, original owner. Love the X5. I've towed my racecar with it for 5 years. Drives like a luxury sedan yet has good utility. What more can you ask for?

To date it's been low maintenance. The steering rack was replaced under warranty at around 25k 'cause wife complained about a noise. Passenger front door lock also replaced under warranty at about the same time.

Out of warranty I've topped up the freon, replaced the front thrust bushings, and the ignition switch. I did have my indy replace my trans fluid at 75k. No issue before or after luckily.

Currently need to probably fix the rear brake lights with the solder DIY as I'm getting intermittent brake light issues. Valve cover gasket appears to be leaking a little bit. It's probably time for a little preventative maintenance like new spark plugs, water pump, coolant expansion tank, belts, valve cover gasket...

'02 3.0, 5 speed manual. 221K miles. Looks and runs like a 50K mile car. Old school maintenance since new. Very few things have gone wrong and all were minor. Planning to keep it till 250K miles, although oil consumption is starting to rear its ugly head.
