I agree. Why use 93, when you can use 105? Have you ever tried sprinkling meth on 105?

lowest that comes out of the pump here is 95... downside is it has 5-10% ethanol in it.
To stay on topic.... getting close to 220k km |

Since our E53’s don’t have tire pressure monitors, they use a system that reads the all 4 tires via X-drive system.
If they don’t all rotate at the same speed or cadence it triggers the low tire light again. A semi “18 wheeler” backed into my car while it was parked at work! 🤬😳, The insurance screwed me big time, basically I’ve been piecing it back together since last December 🤒 There’s no way I’m taking it to the stealership. Basically I do need an alignment 😜😆👍 |

Start with check your tire pressure.
Then check your tire circumference. Do you have evenly worn tires?

early E53 X5's may not have TPMS, or even FTM

I got my X5 in a long-planned swap from my neighbor, who wanted my retired race car. He'd have to restore (to a certain point of driveability) an AWD or 4WD vehicle, of my choosing (subject to a few stipulations). Among those was included that I do not like TPMS systems, since they're nothing but trouble, and specified that the vehicle I would receive (in exchange for my Chevelle drag car) should be prior to the mandatory onset of having TPMS. Actually, I requested a 2000-2001 X5 (loved the X5 when it came out, but never get the first year model of any vehicle), a 1996-2001 Jeep XJ or WJ (perhaps the easiest to restore), or a 1996-2004 S-10 Blazer (I have a soft spot in my heart for S-10's). 3.5+ years later, we swapped the cars, and I was glad to see no TPMS. I'm an old tire-kicker from way back, and always have a good tire pressure gauge in my vehicles, so I'll do the pressure-checking, myself. And, from a million miles plus of experience, I can usually tell a low tire by seat-of-the-pants feel, while driving. Don't need no fancy TPMS!

I have 258,600 on my e53 3.0 2001. Just replaced for the fist in it's life the rear - ball joint, integral link, control arm, thrust arm. PITA get the best ball joint press you can find, like Pelican Parts etc, keep away from ebay, my ebay one was not flat enough at the edge to fit, so I was stuck, till I filed it down after breaking one bearing.
