20" all season tires
Also, I know the OEM fitment for the 87's calls for 275/40/20 front and 315/35/20 rear. Has anyone gone with higher profile tires, say 45 in the front and 40 in the rear? What would be the highest profile I could get away with without experiencing rubbing issues? I realize that I will be wearing low-pros on these 87's but would like to explore a higher profile than recommended for the sake of my wheels, my wallet, and the seat of my pants (roads where I live aren't the greatest). Thanks in advance for any advice you guys may provide.

Give it a second man.....it's a holiday weekend. I'll give you this....
I'm pretty sure you can't just add more side wall with out messing with the speedometer and it may have an affect on the transmission. If you do a search on those tires, you might find some user reviews from our board. I've only run Diamaris and Bridgestones.....I also run Winter tread during the cold months. The wide tires on 19/20 oem rims are no good in the snow. I doubt a supposedly weaker sidewall is going to have any affect on your driving....if you're not pushing it to the limits.

Spider - true I wasn't thinking about the fact that it's a holiday weekend, good point. Thanks for the response though. Happy holidays to all!

Depending on where you live and what "winter" means there. If winter means snow do not even think about all weather tires. Buy the best winter tires you can get with that heavy truck. And go for the narrowest winter tires that fit - 235 is also too wide but there is no other option. Good luck, Helmuth |

I have 87's and run Toyo Proxes STII for a second winter now and I've never been happier with an all season tire. I've heard a lot of good reviews on it and also for the conti dws but with the backorder on the conti I chose the proxes and it is a great tire.

I live in Chicago suburb, so winters are pretty crazy around here... ![]() I don't have dedicated winter wheels and tires, so I'm always extra careful with the wide tires but overall pretty happy with the all season toyos and they handle excellent in snow.
