it doesn't change power so much as makes everything a lot smoother, so it feels quicker, it's only advertised for something like 5 or 10hp, i did the cdv delete but it still felt jerky afterward although not as much, the shark smoothed it all out.

^Exactly what I wanted to hear. Just smoother, CDV is deleted on mine but yeah at low rpm's it can have a bit of throttle lag. Did you hook up a batt charger to load it?

Yes, I had pulled it in to a programming bay at work, hooked up the charger and followed the directions, took about 20 min total

My new 2004 E53 manual: LB09370

Hey guys! Well, after a long, arduous, search on cars.com and autotrader, I finally found an E53 with a manual that was listed correctly. As many know, the sea of incorrect listings (auto listed as manual) is extremely frustrating, but I was undeterred. It was located in Little Rock, AR at a used car dealership. I am from Ohio, so off I went in my current E36 in case it wasn't what I expected when I got there. It was actually in great shape, owned primarily in New Mexico so no rusty brake lines! I paid $8500 out the door (No Tax) with 122K miles. Not the best deal in the world, but all original paint, non-smoker, tons of records, very well maintained, and a 6-speed manual. i hitched a Uhaul tow dolly, and back home I went on a 900 mile journey through the Tennessee mountains. The E53 was a trooper even with the heavy payload out back.

The previous owner was kind enough to take a phone call from me and he was really cool! Told me he liked quirky cars and loved having a manual X5. He had a ton of service records he left in the glove box and we discussed the repairs and maintenance he had done at his closest BMW dealership.

It's not heavily optioned...and I do LOVE options, but it's a great drivetrain and has the essentials covered: xenon, OEM hitch, premium pkg, pano roof, front heated seats, rear AC, BC, and, sunshades are about it. I wish it had sports package, DSP, and CWP too but beggars can't be choosers.

First order of business was removing the chinese aftermarket radio (last pic) and installing a used dash since the previous owner went to town with the hack saw. Everything went without a hitch, until I had to reinitialize the pano roof after disconnecting the battery. After some plastic crunching noises, it's toast now and the TLL number is too old for a repair kit. So the fun begins! Found a used 2006 Pano cassette that I am going to install and luckily, have access to repair kits when it breaks.

Sorry for the lack of pictures, but I left town for a week as soon as I got back home. More to come!

Just came in to post that its near impossible to get a discount on a Conforti Shark Injector.

Jim C must be clutching the price points tightly on it, I just wanted to see if Turner would match the sale they had last month at $299 since I missed out and basically got a prompt "no". Maybe now that ECS owns them they would be more flexible on such things? lol

Delayed introduction!

I joined back in February to ask some opinions about an 06 X5 6MT, and picked it up shortly thereafter...life got in the way and I didn't get a chance to post over here in the registry.

It's a late (August) 2006 build, 133,000 on it now (I've only put a couple thousand on it so far). It was a northeast car, so it's got some surface rust underneath and on most of the exposed uncoated nuts/bolts, but only one little bubble on the driver's rear door. Otherwise, it's in beautiful shape.

Only option I wish it had were HID's, but with quality bulbs, the halogens aren't too bad. Pano roof is there but makes noises, so I lubed it one last time, closed it, pulled the fuse and closed the rear cover manually (it doesn't want to come out to play with the front cover). I'm not even mad - I'm no fan of sunroofs.

I've already replaced the CCV, flushed all the fluids, and did the mercedes brake light repair kit. It also needed a new section of brake line to replace a rusted section where everyone has issues. It's currently getting a new fuel pump and fuel filter (part of some automotive bad karma with 3 vehicles going down simultaneously) right now. The water pump isn't leaking and the expansion tank looks good, but they're next on the list of preventative replacement...followed by the VCG and vanos seals. Still debating an N6, I just hate to cut the dash...and I'd really like to have something carplay compatible (I just hate more how the double din units look in the dash).

Overall, a wonderful addition to the fleet. I'm honestly considering selling my 335 and running the x5 full time, I like it so much. It's nice enough to be proud of, but I'm not paranoid that someone is doing to ding it with a door. After getting it all detailed up and seeing just how good of shape the paint is in for the miles, I hate to leave it outside...but garage space is what it is.

Welcome, Javamon, fine looking example and you are a welcome addition to the three pedal club. I, too, like that dark color, though I can't tell on my screen if its the dark green, gray, or even the metallic black [like mine]. I'm partial to the grays ....
