thank you! the x3 was an auto, if it were a manual, i'd keep it too!!! but yes similar upgrades to the x5, i'm going to lift it a bit and put some 265/70/17's on it, i like the hankook dynapros i have on the x3 rims now, just need a bigger size. my wheels are done at the powder coaters, so i'll pick them up on my day off, put them back together ( 2 piece bbs ) and go tire shopping!

And the hartge kit is a fortune!!!! 1700 for just the spacers and rear shocks for the x3, motivated me to make my own.

ok everyone, making my list and checking it twice, if its a fluid in my truck its getting dumped, whats the concensus on the redline for the trans? mt-90, or mtl? also dumping the diff oil and going with redline, i'll get the bmw transfer case fluid here at work and reset the values, i've lubed the crap out of the door handles and they're much smoother now! I dont have that "pop" when i pull the handles, and I'm not 100% in love where the xenons have the cut off on the drivers side, so i'll re-initialize them with the rear of the truck slightly raised to bring them up a little.. then we have to make the lift kit and get a prototype out to have it all machined from aluminum..i looked into the fluid motor union kit, but it looks like its just for airbag x5's and not regular springs. am i missing anything???

I went with redline in the trans, tcase, and diff's. For the trans I used the atf.

what redline did you use in the transfer case? also mine is x drive (06) so I think that might make a difference, but i'm not sure.

Yeah yours is different. Mine is an 03, so it can use the same fluid as the trans. I put redline atf in both my transmission and transfercase. I think the general consensus is that you need the BMW fluid for the xdrive tcase.

For facelift, stick to BMW fluid in the transfer case. And reset the adaptations on the case using DIS.
For the diffs, Redline 75w-90 is what I used. And for the MT, since you're in Jersey like me I used MTL. MT-90 is also a good fluid but slightly thicker, I would prob only use that if I lived a little farther south, MT-90 can be slightly stickier when cold than MTL. Your call but either fluid would work fine.
