I found that I couldn't get the bumper off because the ehaust pipes were in the way. I had to loosen the ehaust pipes in order to get access to the bolts to loosen them up.

Late build 2004 (Oct 2004) 4.8is here with no coding necessary.

I found that once everything was lined up, and snug that to remove the bumper it was easier to remove the nuts from the bolts inside the tire well, Fig C #5 & 7, instead of the two bolts in Fig H, #12. The Fig H bolts require the muffler drop, the Fig C bolts do not.

Yes there were more nuts, but they were MUCH easier to access.

Since the vehicle doesn't know a trailer is connected, trailer stability control and rear camera features may not work correctly either.

While a gt1 may be able to code it I would want the benefit of the most recent software, which means the dealer.
I just installed an OEM hitch and wiring last week and ever since the PDC will not work from behind. Will coding fix this?

Depends on what you mean by won't work. With no trailer connected, the rear PDC should work just like before. When a trailer is connected and plugged in to the receptacle, the rear PDC should be disabled (otherwise it would beep all the time since it thinks the trailer is a wall that you are about to back into).

If it isn't working as described above, then yes, coding can help because the vehicle software will then recognize the presence of the trailer wiring module, and function as above.

When I put it in reverse I get one long beep that lasts 2 or 3 seconds then it stops. When this happens the light on the PDC button flashes.

Check your PDC connections.

Agreed, sounds like during the hitch installation the wiring harness was not properly connected to each PDC sensor, or the harness was damaged.

Love your metal bar below your front spoiler. Do you know where I could get that? Could you post that pic in the thread so we have it a little bigger than your avatar.

Thanks
