...they almost got that out and back on the beach.
I suppose they could wait for high tide and hope it floats up to the tide line...

Salt water must have done a job on some/most of the parts.
Funny stuff, these vids and pics.

yeap, that's the one!!!... i was laughing my a$$ all the way to the end... it seems that the crash sensors went off - the curtain airbags went off, flashers came on... i just wonder, if spinning the tires so fast will ignite the rubber to point of explosion... or, it was just air pressure blow out... knocked the lens off the rear tail light, busted the bumper and bent some metal...

Also, when I tried something like that in the snow, I had to turn off the DSC or whatever that traction control thing is called, otherwise I would get no spinning at all, not even RPM would go up as I pressed the gas pedal... I would "rock" the car to get it out of the snow, not try to run like crazy in one direction...

Any experts that could chime in on this?

PS. the other truck, the one that is the local make ( i think it's called " URAL") has air pumps at each tire that can lower or increase pressure of the tires - very cool feature...

thank you JB...

Those trucks that ford the river ( I think it is river Ob or Oka, I did not
get much on it) are the same trucks that tried to pull that crazy dude that
blew his Porsche Cayenne - those trucks are designed to ford small creeks
but I never thought that they can ford a fast river like that. I rode in one
of those truck in 6 ft (it was deeper than my height, and i am 5'9") snow,
with no road in sight. The driver lowered the air pressure in the tires (it is 6x6) and
rode through virgin snow as if it was Promenade De Anglais in French
Riviera... I was worried that were going to get stuck there for hours but
everything worked out fine - he made a few donuts in the snow and then
returned to main path... lol... ggranted, the temperature was -35 Celcius, so snow was good and fluffy...

The guy in the British pursuit did show some elements of the evasive
driving - they teach us those tactics to avoid confrontation with mad mobs
that hate americans... But he sure was stupid to run from the cops...

The Russian guy was plain stupid - he was lucky that he engaged the PPS, the
patrolmen, who rarely use guns, and shot at him only after he ran over that
pedestrian - it it were russian OMON (Their SWAT), he would have been vaporized
long time ago....

I am not sure, i think i may have seen that blacked out X5 in moscow - on the other
hand, there were so many juiced up cars in moscow, that my stock 4.6iS
looked like a poorman's ride!!! My next door neighbor in moscow, who rode Bentley (he had a driver), thought that I was a hired driver to the owner of the X - I was changing my own winter/summer tires, dug under the hood... lol... I sure lost some prestige points in that neighborhood!!!!

Crazy!!!

hahahaha... no, i am not CIA man, and to be honest, i would not want to be, they don't take care of their own - if an agent gets into "mud", the agency says they don't know who he is... i do work for the gov-t, and my car is "schlepped" around on gov-t dime... they do teach us some driving techniques, and a rear drive car is perfect, but my E39 was too old to ship around, and besides, X5 offers the sense of an SUV, even though they suggest Toyotas or Land rovers...

There was a time, when I was coming home from Panama to Costa Rica, with my wife, when we were stopped at a police roadblock. They wanted to search the car for the merchandise that people normally buy in Panama (shopping Mecca of Latin America) and then take home to Honduras, Salvador, etc... CR allows upto $500 per person tax free and then taxes the hell out of you on the rest... So, they saw that the back of the car was filled upto windows with the things that my wife shopped ($5000 worth of crap, given that clothing in Panama is a dime on a dollar in comparasion to US prices), and they thought that they got a "fat" gringo who needs to share the wealth. Since my trip was business/pleasure, I also had things in my car that was none of their business - even my wife has no idea what I have in the black cases... lol...

So, I told them, No, they can't search my car, there are Dip plates on the car and both, my wife and myself have US Dip passports, and therefore are exempt from any attempt to collect "taxes". That drew attention of the entire "squad", or whatever they are called, and if it wasn't for police uniform, i would have thought that those AK-47s belonged to FARC or something...

20 minutes later i started seriously thinking about flooring the gas pedal and taking off, but then, I know that AK-47 bullet, 7.62mm can fly upto 5 kms and retain its killing force upto 3 kms, and I did not think that I could outrun the shower of bullets...

Eventually the issue got resolved, as they realized that the fish they bit was much bigger than what they could have swallowed... But it would have been an interesting story to tell, and to show some bullet holes, like in the BMW short movie with the diamond dealer and the other one with the photographer in Latin America and the X5!!! That was the movie that actully went through my mind at the time!!!... hahaha...
