Found this online while surfing and thought it might be helpful for someone. I don't know if this has been posted before but in case not, here it is:

BMW TIS Online • 5' E53

The parent menu has other BMW models. Info is very brief and to the point but better than nothing.

It would be good if people actually searched first. It has been mentioned a lot of times before.

And, to add, the online TIS only seems to have only half the information the real TIS has (especially for the later E53 models).

All though I'm new to this forum...I was sure that the links to the TIS & WDS sites had been posted before.

But for information like this...someone new to BMWs or new to this forum...wouldn't have a clue to search for it...they may have never heard of or seen the acronyms TIS & WDS. Something like this gets mentioned and many of the uninformed & new members may only find out about it only because the thread was posted and is at the top of the forum.

For those of us that have been around the farm a long time...have to remember sometimes that there's a steep learning curve for noobs...so sometimes the same information needs to get posted over & over again just because there are new people always coming in.

New members coming in is the lifeblood of a forum and is how it remains relevent, successful, and a viable resource. The downside to this is that those that have been around a while...tend to have to repeat the same stuff over and over again, or pointing noobs to where they can find the information they seek, or by explaining the "lingo" or giving tips of what to search for.

Just my simple thoughts on why the links were reposted...it wasn't for the old timers...but for the new fresh bloods.

The site has now had the BMW TIS & WDS removed. Instead it now covers VW, GM and Daewoo cars in the EU.

Shame as it was a very useful tool. I wonder if someone flexed some legal muscle?

Both "spaghetti" sites are down for sure...what actually happened isn't known yet...but the owner of the site (name is Jaap) was contacted by some members that knew him personally...and the word we got back was...the sites will be down for a while. That's all that was said...so obviously something personal is going on which may be explained at a later time.

Until then...there is another online WDS (wiring diagram) site...please feel free to bookmark it or save it to your favorites folder: WDS BMW Wiring Diagram System - Model Selection

not a big cost and I think it good to have as reference, and trying to learn a bit more

I am curious as to how detailed these manuals are. Some people who have bought the ebay ones and mentioned that it was good reference but not sufficient enough for an elaborate diy.

You can install it on your PC as well.
