I have a 2006 x5 3.0 w/o DSP but I have sirius and navigation.
If I were you I'll do one additional step, just in case the seller is dump: Remove & take photos of the OEM plug that currently plugs to your dashboard unit.
Let me know how does it go with you.

They sent me two short connectors, I contacted them and they are going to ship a 6 meter cable for me, I will let you know how everything works when I receive the cable. Thanks for the info.

I understand. But have you confirmed with them if it's 17-pin or 40-pin plug? If you receive the wrong plug at the end of that 6m cable then it won't fit.

I wished I read you post before ordering my head unit, although I told them what I had, I still didn't get the cable.

Has anyone run into similar situation.

They also sent me a NTSC Digital TV antenna with magnetic base. I get zero signal with this antenna installed inside dash. Looks like I will need to run this one to the rear of the vehicle as well.

Cheers
I connected my Hualingan to the original GPS antenna in the spoiler. I always get full signal. I used the supplied antenna as an extension and snipped of the magnetic end and spliced and soldered into the existing loom.

Thanks for the feedback, I'm going to get an extension antenna cable and run the GPS antenna to the rear spoiler. I think these are called SMA M/F extension cables.

Hey Neil what are you doing with your OE navigation? are you selling it? I could sure use a retrofit (I have DSP though)
