@Bayerische E53 you can find more infos about the conversion in my older posts (there's also more pictures of the gearbox. Only 4 custom parts were made, nothing was moved, standard engine and TC mountings remained stock, dirveshafts and propshaft are also stock.

@ Green Dragon I can provide (manufacture) all the custom made parts for M62 powered X5 on request any time, I just don't think a development for such kit for N62-powered X5 would be logical due to the other possibilities, to get a V8 powered X5 with manual tranny in case of facelifted E53.

In case of M62 and NV125 there's just no way around exept for the one I went. In case on facelifted E53 there's already a strong GS6 gearbox avaliable from factory. In case of pre-facelift E53, the 5-speed is to weak to keep up with V8 power. So my advice would be to swap the engine and not the tranny, if we're talking about X5s with GS6 trannys.

Especially for USA a LSx sawp would be also interesting due to the avaliability of suitable trannys and TCs. Even it will need some fabrication of TC and engine mountings and front diff mounting as well, the result would be also great - that's the way I would suggest to go to the US people.

And even better - I would buy SRT-8 Jeep and put a manulal tranny in to it - T56 and suitable TC and immense power from the HEMI - that's the car I would play with, if I were living in US.
