2003 Diesel, ODB2 or not?
Hi!
I see there is many solutions and problems with reading BMW codes and which adapter and software really work. So I trying to find out if my X5 really is ODB2 compliant. I have the obd adapter with the correct pins. The vin plate have a "2" inside a box (see picture) is this a reference to obd2 or something else?

My 2002 3.0d is. So yours has to be also ... at least :-)
what I have is: Basic System fr BMW und MINI | AUTOtronic.ch for reading all codes and resetting them. And this one: BMW IBUS I-BUS to USB Interface / Adapter Cable | eBay with the NavCoder software. Good Luck Last edited by Helmuth; 02-14-2013 at 05:24 PM.

Cool, thanks!! Good to know at least some adapter will work:-) can you read some error codes with the NavCoder also!?

For Navcoder you need to dive somehow a little bit deeper into the cars wires. Not really for the software but to connect the interface which is really cheap.
