Please don't kill me for being very vague but we had the voltage regulator on alternator on bmw replaced.
Part number of part removed tallies up on realoem site with an alternator that has a 120/140A rating (which is what car must have), BUT instead of using the identical part number, mechanic used a same brand bosch regulator for use normally on a 150A alternator again listed on realoem site.
so old regulator was for 120/140a alternator and new regulator is for a 150a alternator.
Thus far no issues, asked mechanic he said the one the installed is better, question is will using the new regulator that supports a higher rating alternator be cause for concern?

or is it case of this is better than having a regulator that supports 120/140a alternator being put on a 150a alternator.
