Still learning my way around the m62's but while changing spark plugs today i noticed a heater hose under the engine cover that had been replaced on mine. Might check under there.

They ended up doing both timing case gaskets along with everything else on my list. Basically, anything that was leaking any fluid got repaired.

It came to $1900 for everything. I found a great indy BMW technician locally to work on it. I saved myself $2100 by not sending it to the dealer.

Nice. Mind sharing the name of the shop? I have to have similar work done and would like to get another opinion on cost. Thanks!

Don't know where you live, but if you've had the air conditioner on, it dumps the condensate in that area. The coolant reservoir is on the driver's side, so that's not it. Check the coolant level each morning, when the engine is cold, to see if you're losing any coolant.

Incidentally, the windshield washer reservoir is in that area (passenger side), too. Might be a leak from one of the many hoses going to it.

If you replace the coolant pipe, you should upgrade to this:
All German Auto | Expanding Cooling Pipe/Tube

His engine has 2 pipes and they are easily removed when Water Pump is removed, unlike an N62 engine, which this pipe is designed for.
