Not totally sure on these things but typically clicking is bad cv joints.

Wierd most other stuff should clunk or rattle. Wheel bearing or steering rack maybe. Wheel bearing make some strange noises sometimes but not usually a click. Can you tell which side its from?

Yes the hardcore sound usually comes from the left side right side doesnt make maybe once in a while. You said rattling it doesnt make any rattling sounds. Lets put it this way when i go over a bump the sound comes, or sometimes it comes when i hard brake i only do it to test it if it comes or not. Maybe this will help

Clicking is the characteristic sound of CV joint. Like previously stated, most other components either bang, clunk or sqeak; You can't rely on the condition of the boots as being indicative to the condition of the joint.

Can you "feel it" anywhere in the vehicle (through the seat, steering wheel, or by your feet)? If its the sway bar links, just find a speed bump somewhere and go over it diagonally...even at a walking pace, you should hear/feel a bad link.
