Wheel Spacers - Hub Length
Comparatively, anybody know who makes spacers with just a couple of MM more in length on the Hub Bore on the spacer. It's VERY easy for the wheel to just slip when removing/installing 20" wheels. That extra couple of MM does make a difference when you have the wheel up on the HUB and you're holding it *flat*. On the *stock* factory Hub, it's nice and stable. On the RE, it's as if I'm fighting to keep them on. Not that big of a deal when running OEM calipers, but with BBK, it's SUPER easy to scratch... |

what size are your spacers? I know there are members who run the H&R spacers without issues that I have heard about, as far as I can recall you can buy the 25 or 30mm spacers and those bolt into the existing holes on the hub, then create a "new hub" which you use the wheel bolts on, so theoretically the spacer stays in place so to speak.
I know with the smaller spacers that isn't the case though, and some are just a spacer plate which actually gives you less height on the hub bore to play with. Never heard of Rogue spacers so not sure what you I could help you with...

Yeah. Part of the issues is the the exisiting hub fits *behind* the hub on the spacer. I suppose this could be why they don't make the hub a smigen longer.
I don't have a issue with the spacer moving. Just keeping the wheel sitting on the hub - before I get the last bolt off or on, and staying on the HUB just due to the weight and balance of a 20" wheel... I'm super careful. I usually being the wheel more or less in inside the wheel well, and get on the floor - lift the wheel so it sits on the hub, use one hand to keep it flat - prop my legs up so that it's against the bottom of the wheel and then get a bolt in when reinstalling. It's super tricky as if you shift your balance or weight, the wheel wants to come off the hub .....and well, theres only a Hairs breath between metal and caliper. |
