Aftermarket Muffler ideas!!

Hey guys. So listen, I'm 18 years old, about to go to college this fall, and you can imagine I'm not made out of money. Luckily, my dad is BMW-crazy and bought me my second car, the X5. I absolutely love it as you might guess.

So, I have a 2005 4.4i. I already have a Magnaflow X-Pipe on it. I LIKE the sound, but I need more from it. I have a few buddies with 4.8is exhaust, and one with Eissenman Exhaust. I don't have the funds for anything expensive, so I'm trying to find an alternative.

Do the mufflers need to have a 2.5 INLET DIAMETER?

On other BMW forums, guys have tried these "Euro style mufflers" from eBay, and they actually sound pretty decent. I'm wondering what you guys think about these things (I understand they're cheap), but I'm asking if anyone has any info on these/experience?

Will they fit? I've heard us X5 guys only have about 18 inches of length per muffler under the car, these are about 21 inches. Is that a no-go?

Here's 2 videos for reference:

Thanks,

-Dan

I think I would go with a brand name muffler, magnaflow, dynomax, etc before I would go for something like that. I like the look of the 4 pipes coming out the back, If it were me I would look for something with a little bigger diameter pipes coming out.

I would love to go with a brand name muffler but I really don't have the cash for them, plus the cash for installing them.

I like the 4 tips out the back as well.

You could try a high flow cat BUT that might throw a code on your dash. That might be a good trade off for you if it gets the sounds you want in your price range. The cat will not do anything for the tips but it might help the sound.

Look for pnoyako85 threads. He has a mean sounding Eisenmann on his 4.8. You may find some good info or sound clips in his threads to help with your decision.

Thanks for the help @BabyCAP!

And yea, Mike is my good friend, I'm with him a lot at meets and such, his trucks is a MONSTER.

I just need to figure out how to get my exhaust to give a louder/deeper rumble!
