Hmmm...our Aug 2001 build 3.0, has the Velcro circle pads for front mats, (toward the seats), and the smaller Velcro pads for rear mats, also toward seats. No 'hooks' here... oe mats, too.

The "hook" style floor anchors are generally seen moreso on the carpet "liners" rather than the carpet floor mats.

There were pics early on in this thread of the carpet "liners"..which are different than the BMW rubber mats (which usually use the flat head screw type floor anchors)...and the carpet floor mats now generally use the velcro floor anchors.

If you order floor mats from the Euro side of the part database...you may get a different selection. Some of their carpeted floor mats still use the flat head screw type anchors...and you may also see the use of the hook style floor anchors.

I recall a thread not to long ago (on one of the several BMW forums I'm on) where a Euro forum member had mat anchors that were somehow held down around the bolt that secures the rail to the floor. They never posted images but I do remember other Euro members chiming in on how to remove them.
