Thanks,

There not staggered but I am running 20mm spacers on the rear,

The rear wiper is a stock E70 arm and blade fitted:

I also fitted the front E70 blades and arms but the passenger side arm dose needed shortening by 25mm before fitting the blade (so you would need the use of a welder):

Standard arms and blades:

New E70 arms and blades:

How is the swipe of the wipers, both front and rear? I measured the rear E70 and it's shorter than the E53. Do you get a good effective swipe though? How about the fronts? I'm very keen in upgrading both. Did you have to do any modifications for the rear as well? Could you please take an up close picture of the modified front passenger wiper?

Thanks!

The rear is slightly shorter but still very effective and swipes very well far better than my old one and there was no modifying needed just bolted straight on.

The fronts are just awesome very effective and absolutely silent there one of my favorite mods.

Here's a little write up I did showing where I had to cut and weld the arm, as mine is right hand drive my wipers are probably the other way round compared to yours but it will still be the passenger side wiper arm that will need modifying:

E70 FRONT and rear wiper arms and blades fitted to my E53

Perfect, just what I needed to know. I will definitely do these mods; I love the E70 wipers. Thanks a lot for posting, Dpbayly!

hey dpbayly, would you perhaps be interested in modifying another set of front E70 wiper blades for E53 fitment? Wondered how much you can get the parts for, and if you might consider doing a set for me, as I don't have the welding capacity and skill to clean up the modified passenger blade to fit.

One thing that drives me crazy about the E53 is that I have to stand the wipers up vertical to clean the windshield, to be able to stand them up without doing that would be reason enough for me to want to change them.

Are the LHD wiper arms different than the RHD? Your passenger blade is my drivers side blade, but they also wipe in a different direction.

EDIT: I think the LHD part numbers are different for the front arms, not sure if you have access to US parts in the UK?

Im more than happy to do it for you I have already done it for another UK forum member and he loves them too and for that exact same reason about being able to flick them up when cleaning and they look far more sleek, I can order a set of German arms and blades seeing as there LHD the only thing is the distance and sending would it make economical sense doing it that way? Like the chap I've already done it for I charged nothing for the modifying as it only takes me about 25 mins I just charged the trade price on the parts and postage.

PM me the trade price for the parts and postage, let me know how much in GBP (i can convert to USD)

Just for the front wipers, caps and arms, I have deleted my rear wiper but if i wish to fit it in the future I could always put an E70 arm on as they are the same
