My led reverse lights were 40 bucks for the pair but are bright as anything, and I have no issues seeing even with 15% tinted windows.

There's a thread about led reverse lights I ought to post some pics in and give it a bump.
Okay, Now I am really confused, so does anyone have the part numbers\places to buy the 'right' LED bulbs? Were the CAN Bus all around bulbs I linked from superbirghtleds.com the 'right ones'?

Also, is anyone running LED turn signal bulbs, and if so was a relay change required to let them flash, and flash at the correct intervals? If so does anyone know what P\N relay is needed?

By the time you get enough bulbs to replace the tail light, turn signal, and brake light bulbs with LED bulbs in the STOCK TAILS, you will have spent as much to have a brand new set of LED tail lights. And you'll still have the same problems with stock tails burning through circuit boards unless you spent the money on the Mercedes benz fix ($30)

I bought a set of LED tails, chrome amber turn signal bulbs, and LED reverse bulbs, all for about $230, total upgrade to the rear of the X.

Is there a preferred manufacturer/vendor for the replacement tail lamps? Are they OEM quality look and appearance?

Got them on eBay. Seller was dt-moto. Just search e53 led tail light and they come up. The turn signal bulbs you can get from Bimmian or stealth bulbs as well. I paid 15 for a pair. The reverse lights I'll get a pic of them, and post an eBay link in this thread later.

There are many sellers on eBay selling the same type of LED taillights. I couldn't recall the seller that I bought them from. Here's a pic.

Just make sure they are error free. The correct bulbs I used for my 2006 was

2-7507 for the rear turn signal (yellow/amber)

2-7506 for the reverse (these bulbs are sideways)

2-7506 and 2-7528 (only get red)

Also try and make sure every bulb has a 360* viewing angle
