BMW E53 X5 3.0D Blanking query

blanked the Vacuum hose from the EGR today with a m4 bolt

since I have noticed the smoking on start up has gone and also car runs ALOT better

one question though is when on high revs the car now hisses a bit like a dump valve

could this just be a bit of air leaking out from Vacum hose>?

TBH it sounds very beastly

If car is a lot better, then you obviously have a leaking/faulty EGR valve.
The hissing sound you hear maybe the bolt not having a tight seal or you have a vacuum leak somewhere else.
The hissing sound may also be a number of things!Turbocharger compressor or manifold leak ..hard to tell without checking all !

Hi

All you do is remove vacuum hose from egr plug it and that's that

As the hissing is only there since plugging vacuum
Hose would you guys say it's related to that?

Also where is the turbo as the sound seems to be coming I believe from air filter area

So what this does, is stop exhaust gases from being fed back into the intake manifold, right?

i am sure thats where the noise was coming from best get it checked

but as its only doing this since EGR vacum hose plugged would you say its more a manifold issue

what tell tail signs of turbo going

all i get is a cloud of whitish/blue smoke on start up

was alot more before egr blanked and would also get the smoke when i drove for a few minutes

car had an error for EGR before I even blanked it that was reason it was done

I am desperate to try this how easy to get to it? Any images would be great! And can it be undone? Had my cracked manifold replaced but still not back to healthy boost unless i hit 2000 revs...
