I've seen tutorials about relocating the MID to the glove box or the rear of the car to trick the amp into turning on, but I'm not really interested in that option either. Would like to avoid completely rewiring the entire vehicle for an aftermarket amp. Am I asking too much!? |

The trick component is the CD player. Mine is wired in back where the CD changer would be. It is a simple matter of four wires attached into the cd changer wires (no cutting). The mid wires were extended to reach the glove box. It is much easier than it sounds.
I am shocked daily how good it sounds, so good I sold my amps and have my speakers sitting on a shelf.

Done! Cut the bezel. With the wiring harness I got from Crutchfield with the stereo, installation was easier than we expected.
