I was planning on changing my tranny fluid every 25k-30k. So I am approaching that interval very shortly. I may drop the tranny oil pan and see what it looks like, new gasket, fresh fluid, and new hardware.

Guys, how can I tell if I got the DINAN ecu or tranny software/tune?
Recently, I got a new black on black 4.8is with DINAN air intake, strut bar and exhaust but I am not sure if it has the engine and the high flow throttle body.
I can check that with inpa but how can I tell it's dinan or not? Or the throttle body?

Btw, this new to me DINAN X5 is quite faster than my red one.
I might sell the red one or my daughter's 4.4... I will see. Still like the imola though.

The part number should be different than the normal BMW part no?

The Dinan software on a 4.6 make shifts firmer, faster and at higher RPMs. Manual mode is different as you have total control.

4.6 engine software, other than the performance improvement, removes the top speed governor, improves throttle response and increases the rev limiter to 6500 RPMs.

Since Dinan products must be installed at an approved Dinan shop, you may be able to contact them and find out what you have by VIN number. If your 4.8 has the Dinan badge it was not earned until the mods totaled 10 points. As an example the strut tower brace was only 2 points.

I will have to call them to find out however, I don't believe the it got the 10 points as I don't have the badge. For the 4.8 I don't see the tranny upgrade option on their website, only for the engine though.

There are no BMW part numbers for Dinan products. Dinan is an independent tuner that has an association with BMW to the point that Dinan products don't void the warranty and Dinan matches the BMW warranty for their products.

For sure but I believe he was referring to the ECU or EGS firmware versions as "part numbers" in INPA.
