I agree with changing your own oil, its better but sometimes just not possible. Im usually too busy with school and work that I just get my buddy at lubepros to take care of something as simple as an oil change. Sometimes it just isn't worth my time.

LOL, some of the posts have been pretty funny. I was reluctant to let someone else do the oil change, but it was winter and there was no way I was lying down under the car in -20C. :P

FYI I never mind off-topic stuff, it keeps things interesting...

BTW, anyone have any ideas for getting the oil out of the stiffening plate? I don't want to take it off if I can help it, but it's going to drop forever if I don't clean it. Might just piss off the folks at the self serve car wash and stick the pressure washer in there. :P

...after browsing their website...it looks like Fumoto has come up with a solution for just about every question a vehicle owner would have as to how best to use their product. Gotta give it up to them for supplying the demand.

They have short/tall adapters, valves w/short or long nipples, tubes & connectors for tubes to prevent leaks while draining, 90° elbows to direct tubes to where you want the oil to flow, and clamps to prevent accidental release of the drain lever.

That Fumoto looks like a must buy for me and my 4 cars. Granted the beater 98 Passat turbo wagon has been getting the 20.00 Pep Boys oil change.

Oil changes add up real fast for 4 cars and I am wanting to save some money by doing it myself. This site is so awesome.

I was going to buy an oil extractor but have not felt good about any of the options in regards to the longevity. So this is the way to go.

I am definitely getting a fumoto for my next X. 3.0d is so hard to find here, though.

I have had the fumoto sitting in the back of my tool chest for years...as it never fit right.....when I originally put it on. I ordered the extra adapter in this post and did a OCI today, so good timing to try the Fumoto again. No dice.

The damm buffer....where the handle area is hits the oil pan and won't allow it to rotate/turn in to tighten proper

Has anyone successfully installed a Fumoto drain valve in an N62? If so, which model and did you need an adaptor?
