ive looked at this picture, and checked out realoem , but both don't correspond
as I said even the dealers is confused
so far I got ,
5 clips on the front of the shield (number14) with, 5 number 08's (blue)
3 of number 16 (purple)
4 of number 5 (red)
and for the yellow ones I got 4 number9 and 4 number 8

wow that was hard, can any one verify this, so I know what exactly im going to buy??

cheers
steve (confused)
I can't tell you what's right but I can tell you what's on my car (and what I believe to be factory but who knows...).

I have only two type of fasteners on this shield - 5x M6 bolts (purple and red in reference image - BMW #07119903995) and 9x ST4,8X16 screws with washers (blue and yellow on reference diagram - BMW #07119901311).

It's possible the four brake duct retainers are slightly different (in fact RealOEM says they are) but I can't see any difference - or a PO has replaced them.

I wrote a Fluids DIY 4 years ago, in that thread I outlined the screws used for the splash guard...

When you look at the diagram on realoem.com...remember that hardware is indentified by the encircled numbers and have their own index within the illustrated drawing to give an indication of what they are...also remember to look in the QTY column. When you look at the hardware index in the diagram along with the QTY listed in the column...and compare it with the image that has the hardware highlighted...you should come up with the list below when the diagram is compared to the pic:
  • #5 - there are five of these in the diagram and they're blue in the pic
  • #8 - there are four of these in the diagram and they're yellow in the pic
  • #13/#14 - there are two of these (a screw and clip) in the diagram and they are red in the pic
  • #16 - there are three of these in the diagram and they are purple in the pic

...yeah...it's not the easiest illustration to figure out. And if you look at one of the other sites (like bmwfans.info)...they don't even have #16 pictured. Now, how does that happen?

well, after a nice enjoyable day putting the beast back together I can say now that 2 out of the 3 purple bolts have snapped on the car , so a drill and tap will be in order.
