Yeah I dealt with drone for too many years in my VW's, I'm happy with the increased flow and mpg gain with the 4.8iS exhaust. Prob will just complete with a Shark Injector tune down the line.

Post up a vid clip though it prob sounds mean with a Remus!

If i only eliminate the resonator, the sound change with stock mufflers?? What do you mean with "drones" with the x pipe

Does anyone have any say on changing the headers on our cars?

Yes but you'll need a custom tune to delete the CEL you'll get (Active Autowerke, Jim Conforti (custom), ESS maybe)

E46 headers for the 330 work, readily found on ebay for $150. You may need a small extension pipe to mate with the factory resonator section.

Did you get the Shark Injector installed yet? Curious to know how you like it,

Nah I didn't get it as yet, I'm still hesitant on if I want to do it . Probably in another couple months . I have to deal with this oil filter housing gasket leak first.

I have done the same modification of resonator delete and magnaflow x-pipe with custom exhaust tips and i have no drone what so ever. The sound is really throaty. Sounds fantastic for 3.0i.

I'm debating on whether I should do a headers swap and get the AA tune or not. I have no emissions tests where i live. So my setup would be "supersprint" headers (i mean $150 exact copy from ebay) with the necessary cat delete to X-pipe to mufflers to custom wide tips. The tips look a bit like the 4.8 tips but not as wide. Would that be too loud/turn into full blown ricer? How bad would the drone be? if at all?
Cheers, Roy

As long as you have rear mufflers in place it will probably sound great. Straight piped from headers back though would scream like a mother.

If you already deleted the resonator you shouldn't have any more drone than you have now assuming the mufflers are still in place. The deletion of cats won't give you drone

Anyone got a video of what it sounds like with resonator replaces by x pipe with stock mufflers?
