Power mirrors folding all the way forward

I started having a problem with my passenger side mirror would fold close then instead of stopping at its normal position it's folding all the way forward. The driver side is working fine. I opened the passenger side mirror and fixed the metal pin and it would work about 3-4 times then back at it again

Also both mirrors are loose so I think the gears are grinded out

my mirror also acts up, sometimes if you open and close them a couple of times the mirror will tighten back up ,mine did anyways. also you can check the torx screw under the mirror where it holds the motors in place to make sure they are tight.

I fixed the mirrors already by putting the metal pin back on and it would work good a couple times then goes crazy again. They used to tighten up after I opened and closed them but as soon as someone would open the door and close it, it gets back loose. The 4 torx under the mirror were already tight and gave them about a 1/4 turn just to make sure and still the same

was the metal lever still on the limit switch when it malfunctioned? or did it fall off again?

you might have to replace the limit switch on the mirror . I know you can just get the limit switch . also the gears maybe worn ,did you have a good look at the gears?
