Angry Ugh, won't start

No start, no lights... charged up my jumper, but that gave it enough juice for the various lights to come on, and I could hear the fuel pump come on and a rapid series of 'clicks' at the front near the middle, but no crank.

Do bimmers require more juice than a normal car to start? Going to charge the jumper again and see if I can let the car slurp up some more power and see if it will start then.

Started fine yesterday, no issues. I'm hoping it's just a weak, but not totally dead battery or something worse, so I can at least get her started and drive over to Canadian Tire and buy a battery.

Yes...if the battery voltage is below 11 volts....you're gonna need more than one of those little battery packs.

UNLOCK your cluster and do TEST 9...you,,,ll seehow low your battery voltage is (probably below 11 volts)

If youhave jumpercables...still do test 9 so you can see the battery voltage, then try your first attempt once the voltage reaches 12 volts.

Also, use the engine bay terminals if at all possible when charging orjumping the vehicle.

Ty for the input... gonna give the jumper a second try once it's charged up... got no friends nearby to give a jump, but will ring a doorbell or two if I have to.

Good luck...you probably just need something with enough juice to turn your e53 over...or if your jumper pack has an AC cord that you can have it plugged in while connected to the X...perhaps it can get the battery up to 12 volts if you leave it pluggedinfor a good 10 hours.

Prof x5, just as a side note about jumping any car (whether with another vehicle or battery pack) it is proper to have the jumping vehicle/battpack off and connect cables then turn jumping vehicle/batt pack on and let it charge the receiving car for 10 mins minimum so it has a "base" charge. Then try turning over your car. It will be easier on both batteries.
I hope you can grab a new batt. Lots of awesome threads on which battery to buy

I just put in a battery in my x back in aug, it was the H8 eliminator battery so far so good.I`ll know more when its -40c out.
also use a obd2 memory savor like this one. I used this one and it worked awesome didn`t lose any of my settings. but you do have to be careful with the battery terminals don`t short them out even when the battery is unhooked. put socks over the terminals or something.

Didn't check the voltage, just replaced the battery.

Apparently the body shop didn't just siphon my gas, nice white AGM battery was no longer there, but a 2 yr old black evercharge lead acid battery was there.

My south african buddy seems to be right in his assertion that Canadians are the most dishonest people in the world.

Well, I hope they think it was worth losing the contract with the insurance company.

are you kidding me the bodyshop would do that wow, that is low. so you mean they took your good agm battery ,wtf. I wouldn`t deal with them again.
as for canadians being dishonest, I don`t agree with that, cause I know alot of people I deal with and they are honest. there might be a few dishonest canadians ,but there is more honest ones.
