Actually I coded them on because I thought I'd like it but I don't. I'll be turning them off tomorrow.

My first attempt at connecting to a red/white wire under the glovebox showed KL30(hot at all times). We need KL15(ignition) for the AE's. I'm still working on an easy solution for this. Stay tuned. Meanwhile, you can run a wire through the firewall from the ecu box and tap into a KL15 line at one of the relays.

My second attempt was connecting at a KLR line. This is an accessory line. This means the lights turn on in any key position and turn off when they key turns off. The only problem here is most KLR lines tie into a control module or something of the sort. Connecting to one could result in unwanted results, as mine did.

Even with this weird connection, no side light errors!

Stay tuned, I'll have this figured out soon.

Good decision. I never like them on.

I Fixed the issue with the power source. I connected a wire to fuse 4 (5a) and put diodes in the wires to prevent back flow of voltage. This worked perfectly. Everything works as it should. AE come on with the key and they turn off with the key. Leaving the light switch in auto no longer leaves the accessories on.

Good to hear you sorted it, would be great to get the write-up updated.

Unfortunately the same thing happened with the last DRL write up, started one way, finished another - was hard to keep track of the trouble shooting.

Ill take some pictures in the daylight and revise the first post. It's a lot easier than I made it out to be. It took a while for me to figure out the right way to do it. It's definitely easier than running a spliced wire from your headlights to a switched power source.
