If the donor car was in an accident, you may have to swap all electronics from your car seats into the other one. Or buy all new.

I know it's not the same platform but I swapped out the seat in my E60 m5 from sport to comfort and it was plug-n-play. The only thing I needed was the seat control switches on the dash for the heated and cooled function. Everything was already pre-wired, no coding needed.

^^^I did the same thing to my E60 but I had to have a control module replaced after installing and then coded. I assume it would be the same thing with the E70.

Is this the X5M seat set on eBay in black? If so, then seats are far from perfect IMO.

Yes, those are the ones. I have decided not to do this...too much hassle and logistics issues. Thanks for everyone's help.

Yeah, was debating retrofitting the ventilated comfort seats too, but there are too many other electronic parts which need to be replaced, plus the target car will need to be coded.

Wiring is a nightmare to figure out - better off keeping what you have I have the comfort seats, they are OK but wouldn't be something I would shell out $2k for.

The deal would have also included the rear seats, all 4 door panels, and the center console trimmed in carbon leather.
The wiring I can handle, just couldn't get past the scratches and indentations in the leather.

Just a question? would love to try it but not in the blind. |
