Painted my faded and ugly black bumper trim.

My X5 is an 2007 model, so as you can see the black bumper trim looks pretty bad. I've tried a few trim restoration products like Mother's Back to Black, but they don't last more that a couple of weeks. I decided I needed a more long term solution. Here's how I spent a beautiful Saturday afternoon.

From the pictures it certainly looks good. Now, are you gonna chase the rest of the plastic trim all the way around the car to match?

Haha. Thanks.I had a feeling someone was gonna mention the old trim. Yes I'm definitely planning to finish the entire car. Maybe another weekend. All that masking takes so much time.

Just remove the fender flares or even save your time and just buy the $200 wider flares off eBay brand new

I actually ordered some Wipe New but after reading the instructions thought it was more like lacquer and was hesitant to use it. You found it fine? Did you remove the trim or tape off to protect adjacent surfaces? Did it go on even across large areas?

I decided to get rid of my faded black trim completely.
I had mine sanded smooth and color matched to the rest of the vehicle.
