Are we thinking the new sensor element will work with the existing electronics?!?
Makes sense it works. The electronics box the NOx connects to is an ADC and CAN bus node. It reads in the analog signals from the NOx sensor that has a characteristic curve, digitizes the signal, and encodes the information on a DDE7 2-wire CAN bus.

Other Conti models of the "box" for other brands probably use other brand-specific CAN protocol implementations, but maybe each brand uses a Conti implementation - need to test.

With that said, splicing seems to work, so that's great.
