Really? Doesn't it drive you nuts? lol

To me it sounds like a metallic rattling sound and it's pretty loud. In the videos I posted the diesel engine over powers the rattling sound the video.

The tuning was done by Alex, the guy in California (https://missiontuning.com/) but the car is smoking like crazy when i press on the gas. I have to drive it like an 80 year old grandma if i don't want to leave black clouds of smoke and pissing people off.

I was wondering if you have the same results? Is that normal?

I am almost want to reverse this whole thing hence why i'm asking if you still have your DPF.

Thanks for your response.

Hey Man
No I sold the DPF

and your situation is not normal, the car should smoke very little and only under wide open throtle.

your condition could be caused by a leak in the boost hose or a clogged air filter or something that is causing the engine to starve of air.

the smoke only happens when you are running rich.

hope you did not use the guy I used from california, he was a dufus ..

Edit: you can't accept private messages so Im responding to your message here.

I have wondering the same question as well. However, I am not sure if that is a regular muffler or some sort of catalytic converter. If it is a regular muffler, I would leave it to keep things quieter. I'm guessing it's a catalyst though.

The reason you remove that section is because you want to be rid of the SCR cat and the SCR injector. The BUZZKEN and many other exhaust option include a midpipe. Otherwise you have to gut the SCR cat which is the rectangular box downstream of the portion you circled.

As shown in this picture. Also shows the positions of the DEF fluid tanks.

That means you don’t have to remove the entire exhaust as the newtis stated if you are only trying to remove the DPF for cleaning or head casket repair. Just need to remove that mid section?
