Applied NuShield film to navigation, no more scratched anti glare!

So like many BMW owners with the scratched navigation anti glare I decided to patch it. You can find DIY's already on what to do but I'm going to just kinda explain why I chose this screen protector and show a picture.

First off you don't have to use NuShield, I did because I read it fit well and they had two options. My main concern was using my polarized glasses and still seeing the screen. I purchased the Triple A version in stead of the DayVue version for one reason. The DayVue is to shiny, it supposedly is made to fix the polarized viewing issue and from reading people like it but it doesn't look factory so I passed. I called NuShield and spoke to sales who also advised the DayVue however, I asked about the Triple A giving viewing issues with polarized glasses. They said if the screen is alread at an angle it would not cause issues.

They were right, I polished the old anti glare off, applied the film and it looks like before. I have the full screen so I'm not sure if they sell the smaller version but it fit well.

Next time the sunroof is open I will take a picture if I remember. Not sure about how it looks at night yet either.

Looks great. Could you provide more detail on the removal of the old film? LOL Too lazy to search.

I removed mine on my CCC a few years ago with rubbing alcohol...
Took a little bit of time, but worked great.

I did remove it from the dash to do the coating removal and then install the Screen Protector, FYI.

Applied NuShield film to navigation, no more scratched anti glare!

Some people use Novus plastic polish, I used Meguiars Plastx since I had it already.

You remove the navigation screen which is very easy, you pull the center vents out by grasping under it and pull. Then the screen is held on by two Philip's head screws at the base corners. I went on YouTube for this it's very easy.

You will need a smaller torx bit to remove the bezel on the screen but once that's out you just use the plastx polish and gently rub the remaining anti glare off with a microfiber. You will be able to see where it is and isn't as you do. Then I just applied the protector and reinstalled.

Add me to list of removing the anti glare coating with Plastx and reinstalling it with no screen protector. The results are amazing. The glare to me is acceptable and it looks brand new. Not sure if I will bother to add the screen protector.

I'd like to see pictures of that. I'm tempted to go glossy with mine.

The tint on the side windows is so dark, you don't even see the scratches on the screen unless the sunroof shade is back to provide glare.

The technique I use leaves the screen even glossier than that. I wonder how it would do.

Glossy

The reduced pictures to allow the upload doesn't truly represent what it looks like in person. Its glossy and looks brand new. Obviously there is glare when the sun is out but it has not bothered me one bit since I did it about 2 weeks ago.
For the record I removed the entire screen from the car and did it in my kitchen.
