Hey all... new to diesels, not to Bimmers. This is a 2010 35d with 56k miles. The DPF regen works well, and the ash mass is way below max. The car runs really well, but mpg is low (about 19-20 mixed). I need some help determining what is going on with my CEL. I use Carly and here's what I'm finding...

-------------------

Summary:
Engine / Motor:
- Fault: measured air mass compared to the calculated air mass to low

Ok... so I also ran some parameters and found the "Pressure upstream of the particle measurement" didn't move at all... constant at 500 hPa. I doubt this is normal and am guessing a sensor failed. the problem is I can't figure out which one. I'm assuming from what I've been reading that the EXHAUST PRESSURE SENSOR (Part Number: 13627808013) might be the culprit. Or maybe it's the DIFFERENTIAL PRESSURE SENSOR (Part Number: 13627805758). Regardless, I'm still trying to figure out the readings and learn along the way.

My next steps are to do a smoke test for vacuum leaks, remove and clean the EGR and cooler, clean the pressure converters, replace the t-stat (and flush-n-fill), and I also got a random DEF injector code so I'm going to replace that. I'm not looking forward to chasing the problem with money, so if you are able to interpret the code readings above, let me know what you think.

Many thanks for your time...

Exhaust pressure sensor is the one before the turbine, it's emp or exhaust manifold pressure.

The 0.5 bar that you didn't see moving is the differential pressure sensor. That one is by the dpf with 2 lines that connect pre dpf and post dpf.

Use these custom pids if you have torque, they give you clearer readings for boost, exhaust pressure, and the dpf pressure. You rename it , get rid of. Txt and in torque settings, you can open the file in the extended pids section to get a lot of good pids.
