Question for the guys running wheel spacers and winter rims

Hey guys, I just put a set of style 209 wheels with winter tires on my 2013 x5 sport with 20" wheel option, and the rear tires in particular are sunk pretty far inboard and I'm wondering for guys with 20" wheels that are running 18"s for winter if you use spacers and remove the spacers when spring comes and it's time for the staggered 20"s again?

I've run wheel adapters before on a Jeep JK but the style I had bolted directly to the hub and it was recommended to use thread locker for a semi permanent installation.

Are the wheel spacers used on x5's similar, where it's not advised to install and remove every year?
