Heavy Duty Service Jack

It's time to get a new car jack due to the X5 height - first SAV in the family.

What do you guys/gals recommend from previous experience?

Harbor Freight Tools?

Thank you

I have the harbor freight 3 ton jack. It's done it's job. Really didn't want to buy it but it had solid reviews and price was right.

However Arcan is currently selling a 3 ton jack at Costco. I'd recommend that if you're a member. I have their 2 ton jack for my E36 and it's great. Definitely a smoother release.

I second what Nanniepoo says of Harbor Freight's 3Ton jack. I've had mine since 2012 when I had an SRX and needed a taller jack and it works great on SUV/SAVs, BUT it is also low-profile enough that I've used it on my 06 Mazdaspeed6 (lowered on Eibachs), and now on my A6 (lowered on coilovers) and I have no problem getting it under these cars at all.

So 5 years running strong! Can't go wrong

Crowz will become famous soon enough
I have the old Chinese brand 3 ton or larger that has served me well over the years (probably the same as harbor freights jack) but my favorite one is the newer dual piston ones. They aren't rated any higher capacity wise its how fast they raise up when jacked that's special.

The old fashion jacks take what seems like 20 pumps to get up to the car let alone raise it. The newer ones meet the bottom of the car in about 4 pumps or so. Makes the job quicker and easier on your arms.

Thank you all for your input

- I need to make sure I have enough height to get the X5 lifted

I haven't done anything beyond just needing to remove the wheels. Harbor freight handles that just fine. I'll be doing a bunch of the fluids this spring so then I'll prefer to get the vehicle as high as possible.
