Carly OBD WiFi Adapter for iOS availability in US?

I replaced the BMW OE battery in our 2009 X5 35d today with an EverStart Platinum AGM Battery, Group H8 from the local Walmart for $165. I did the install with no drama. Since it was a direct replacement (900CCA, etc.) I really don’t need to “register” this new battery except to optimize the charging, etc..

Never the less, I was planning to use the savings on the battery to buy a Carly OBD WiFi Adapter and App for our iPhones to upgrade my diagnostic tools and register the new battery. But Amazon lists the OBD WiFi adapter as “Currently unavailable. We don't know when or if this item will be back in stock.“. Does anyone know of a source for this adapter that doesn’t require international shipping fees?

BTW the BMW OE battery (Exide delivered Nov 2012) had been installed under the original 4 yr warranty 6 years ago. That’s pretty good life. I hope that the EverStart does as well.

I have a very old and cheap Android tablet that I use for Carly with both Android Bluetooth adapters and the wired adapter. My phones are Android also so that's always an option for me but you might consider pricing a good used tablet just for this use.

I got over seven years out of the original OE BMW battery. They seem pretty good. Hope you get similar service out of your replacement.

last time I checked it was cheaper to buy it in euros and ship it to the USA. Although those assholes at Carly try to charge US buyers more that an EU buyer....

61Euros plus 9.90 intl shipping.

But since it isnt shipping to germany, you dont pay VAT. If you live in Germany, price is ~51 euros+ 10 VAT=61. If you are in USA, price is 61 euros, 0 vat.

But it looks like it is back in stock @ amzl

+1. Complete Android devices are cheaper than the iPhone adapter.

Thanks for the tips guys.

I would have gone the all Android route, if I wasn’t allergic to non-iToys Luckily ard noticed that my big bud Jeff heard of my plight and fixed the Amazon availability from “Currently unavailable. We don't know when or if this item will be back in stock.“ to “Get FREE Delivery Tomorrow…” overnight!

Seriously, I have an older iPhone & iPad (without SIMs) which makes it easier for me to just pay the extra for the Carly iOS WiFi Adapter. Besides, as an Apple/BMW owner for several decades, I’ve grown used to paying more for stuff
