Seat heat distribution menu disappeared

Hello all,

First post on here and hoping the community can help out. I've searched this issue but seems like no answers are available yet.

I recently got a 2011 LCI E70 (late 2010 build date) with the cold weather package, heated seats on the front only. They're also the standard (sports?) with memory buttons, not the multi-contour seats/comfort seats. Here's the issue:

I got done installing my Stealth Hitch and used a remote coding service provided through Stealth to code the hitch module, etc. While coding the car, I also got other options changed or updated including updating the navigation maps to 2019. However, when complete I no longer had "Seat heat distribution" as an option on my Climate menu. Previously, it had been present and functional, and I really enjoyed being able to put some heat on my back after a long day at work.

I've studied the coding a bit and managed to get the menu to reappear, but now the sliders are nonfunctional.
Can anyone with a functional seat heat distribution slider take a look at your FSW_PSW.TRC file and let me know what seat heating options are active?

I've tried:
HVAC_SEATCLIMATE_POPUP
HVAC_SEATHEAT_DISTR_FRONT

Both active only shows the popup when turning on the heat, only the DISTR_FRONT active will get the menu to appear in Climate.

Using NCS Dummy to browse, I'm now looking at:
SITHEIZUNG_SLIDER (think these are intensity sliders levels 1-3 on screen)
SITZHEIZUNG_SLIDER_D
VA_SEATHEAT_SLIDER (think these are intensity sliders levels 1-3 on screen)
SITZHEIZUNG_APP
SITZHEIZUNG_APP_9
SITZHEIZUNG_CHAMP_31
SITZHEIZUNG_IHKA
SITZHEIZUNG

Thanks!

Have the remote coder check your FA to make sure your seat heating option is still there. They may have deleted it by accident when adding the hitch option. Check your Work folder for backup FA and current FA files to compare.

I was aware that the seat distribution was a Comfort Seat feature.

Im willing to bet a ton of folks are not aware it can be added (via just coding) to other seats.

Is that true? Or were your seats/harnesses changed in any way?

I confirmed the FA option $494, seat heating, is still there. I’m wondering if deleting and re-adding the option to the VO will return it to the default seat heating setup.

ard, I’ve seen the comfort seat requirement a lot while searching. I also read on one or two forums that dealers indicated sometime in 2011 the distribution function started getting restricted to comfort seats only (with one dealer/service advisor noting it was possible to add “with the right software changes”).

Since mine was an Oct 2010 build that has the original sport seats with no changes to interior, wiring, etc., I’m thinking they discontinued the functionality shortly after.

I got a chance to try a few other codes with no success, as expected. HVAC_SEATCLIMATE_LED did nothing, SITZHEIZUNG_IHKA was activated already, and I haven’t located most of the other codes yet. More to come. I have a feeling it’ll be a combination of codes that has something in common with comfort seat features, climate features or the iDrive controller.

Just replace the code I mentioned there with the 494 and trace out what settings you find in cic/ihka/etc.
