I don't get any juddering or vibration that i can tell and generally at highway speeds I don't hear any of the noises i hear around town at 20-30mph. Last edited by arb; 04-15-2019 at 01:03 AM. |

I only heard this clunk while braking moving forward and not while going in reverse. |

"rebuilt shocks on both sides with all of the rubber pieces replaced and new upper strut mount."
does this include #8 and #10? RealOEM.com - Online BMW Parts Catalog These mount were close to completely disintegrating when I installed front lowering springs. This got rid of a similar noise.

I'm experiencing a similar rattle noise from the front left when going over small bumps. Have recently replaced lower control arms, struts, tie rods. I didn't do the shock mounts, so will do those next along with upper wishbones. If I resolve the issue I'll reply back.

The SF streets must have tore the bushings. This is why I'm looking towards installing solid or urethane bushings to replace the bushing in the tension arm. Or, I might just replace them every couple years. Luckily, ordered these Lemforders from FCP who offers a lifetime guarantee on parts.
I've only had my replacements on for about 10K miles and can feel some play on the bushing end by barely trying to rotate the arm while I'm on my back.

I replaced the front/left lower thrust arms with Meyle HD brand and it's fixed! That was an epic battle, full circle to replacing the first part replaced, 5 months of work including an incorrect diagnosis from Peter Pan BMW that wasted a good month...
The old thrust arms aren't terrible when I look at them, definitely not obvious to the untrained eye they would be the root cause. thanks for the help, i plan to spend the rest of this sunday circling my test track over and over again until I pass out. Last edited by arb; 04-28-2019 at 09:58 PM. |
