Link cell phone

I have been able to link my phone to the X5 and make calls but for some reason all I get now is a “please wait” message and my phone is not linking up through Bluetooth, everything on the phone is set up correctly ...anyone had this problem?

I am adding this information that my X5 is a2012 with the Sport Activity package and the phone is a Samsung Galaxy 7 Android....Hope this helps with someone that has the same problem
Thanks

Help us help you better. A little more info/details might go a long way in someone recognizing your issue.

When in doubt, remove the phone pairing in the car and on the phone and redo it. A lot of these fancy things can just mess up for no reason, whether it be the craptastic idrive or the phone itself.

Thanks for editing the original post and adding the additional info.

When you see the message that says "please wait"...have you looked at your cell phone to see if it was displaying a message or prompt? I ask because the car may be asking for permission to access the data on your phone...along with an "accept" or "deny" prompt.

I have a 2011 X5 and a Samsung Galaxy S7. I have no problems streaming Bluetooth audio to the vehicle. I think I remember seeing "Please wait" occasionally but audio was still being played. What doesn't work the vast majority of time is the audio track information display via Bluetooth.

It displays randomly, sporadically. It worked all day yesterday through several off and on ignition cycles until I got in at work to go home and then it didn't. Between this behavior and the rare "Please wait" all the while the audio is playing perfectly has me clueless as to the problem. I've unpaired and paired numerous times. The BMW NA website says I'm up to date. I primarily use Pandora.

Hate to piggyback on your issue but it seems related.

Is this the "Please wait..." that you see? Occasionally, that will appear in the title or track info position as seen in my photo and rarely in all three positions. Usually it just displays "Unknown". Sometimes it will say "Bluetooth audio" where it says "Please wait..." and I don't remember exactly what it says in the other two positions but I think it's different than "Unknown".

As you can see this morning, the song information did not display but as always, audio comes through perfectly.

Almost identical behavior is observed with my S4 Active which was a contemporary of the E70. This makes me believe it's a limitation of the entertainment system and not necessarily an update being required or complete lack of or incompatibility of a newer phone with a feature set.

Multimedia software version: MX-003.004.031
Telephone software version: TX-003.004.031

Some phones have Bluetooth advanced options in developer settings. You can try a lower version of both and see if that works in that case.
Google "phone name" developer options and go in there and take a look. My lg has the bt options not sure about Samsung. I don't have combox thigh so I can't test music streaming. I'm stuck with headphone jack.
